Supporting Restore Women’s Aid to Help Young People Build Healthy Relationships

June 9, 2026

Lentonbrook Foundation has awarded a grant to Restore Women’s Aid, helping the charity expand its Young People’s Domestic Abuse Support Service across West Suffolk in 2026.

The funding will help deliver education, prevention and support programmes for young people, helping them understand healthy relationships, recognise abusive behaviours and build the confidence to seek support when they need it.

Based in Bury St Edmunds, Restore Women’s Aid has been supporting individuals and families affected by domestic abuse since 1974. The charity provides refuge accommodation and community-based support services across West and Mid Suffolk, alongside specialist programmes for children and young people delivered through schools, colleges and local community settings.

Through its Young People’s Service, Restore works with hundreds of young people each year, offering workshops, advice sessions and targeted programmes designed to help them better understand relationships, boundaries and personal safety, while strengthening confidence, emotional resilience and improving access to support networks.

The programme is expected to reach thousands of young people each year through workshops, group programmes and school-based interventions.

Mark Ashton, Founder of the Lentonbrook Foundation, said: “We’re proud to support Restore Women’s Aid and the vital work they do across our communities. Helping young people understand what healthy relationships look like – and giving them the confidence to speak up and seek support when something isn’t right – can have a lasting impact on their safety, wellbeing and future.”

Katherine Ahluwalia, Principal Operations Manager at Restore Women’s Aid, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the Lentonbrook Foundation for their support. This funding will allow us to continue delivering education and support programmes that empower young people to recognise unhealthy behaviours, build confidence and develop safe, respectful relationships.”
